GLOBAL FUND GIVE TZS 1.155 TRILLION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF TANZANIA TO FIGHT AGAINST AIDS,MALARIA AND TB

Global Fund have Given to the Government of  Tanzania amount of one trillion Tanzania shillings for fighting against HIV,TB and Malaria diseases for the year 2018-2020

Speaking Hon. Ummy ally Mwalimu (MP), the Minister for Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children During the event of Signing the  approval of the Tanzania funding request for the new Global Fund implementation period (2018 to 2020), she says that that money is very important in our country.

"The Government of Tanzania in the new grants(amounting to a total USD 525,167,081.57 equivalent to TZS 1.55 Trillion) that are launched will be using in implementing Health Sector Strategic Plan, it has planned as follows TZS 67 Billion for TB, TZS 320 Billion for Malaria and TZS 769 Billion for HIV" Said Hon. Ummy Mwalimu.
The money will be utilized effectively and monitored by Presidents office Regional Authority and Local Government (TAMISEMI),Ministry of Health and Non-Governmental Organizations.

"For HIV the money will be used to implement procurement and distribution of HIV test kits, prevention programs for the general population such as condoms distributions and IEC/BCC, care and support mother having HIV their children and Family,procurement and distribution of of medical communities for treatment people leaving with HIV, Collaborative activities and routine reporting and programmes to reduce human rights related to barriers to HIV Services" Said Hon. Ummy Mwalimu 

Also she mention that for Malaria the money will be used to control the disease through vector control in which there will be continuous distribution of long lasting treated insecticide Nets. In TB the money will be used  to reduce TB epidemic  and burden by 20% in incident rate and 35% in dearth by 2020.

Happy Assan Organizer of the people who use drugs Tanzania(TANPUD) said that the grant will be helpful because the money will reach to the people who are in need of it.

Regarding to the Chairman  of the Council of people who lives with HIV-AIDS, Jastine Mwinuka he said that the Global Fund Project helped 900,000 infected people by giving them ARV's to cool down the disease.
